KUPIC stands for Kaffea-X Universal Product Identification Code. It serves as an identifier for a specific coffee or a family of coffees, based on a defined set of attributes. While specialty coffees can be characterized by dozens of attributes, only a select subset of these is truly price-determining. Kaffea-X trading focuses on the KUPIC, a standardized, compact code that uniquely identifies a specialty coffee lot on the Kaffea-X platform. This code combines key price forming attributes, such as the origin country, harvest year, organic or rainforest alliance status, species, processing method, variety, screen size, and SCA score, into a single, easy-to-read string. This format helps users compare, filter, and trace coffee lots effectively, and most importantly, accurately map products to a specific pricing curve.
